Need to make a claim?

If you have Home Emergency Cover and your incident is one of; burst pipes, sudden leakage, failure of water/electric/gas/hot water, total breakdown of your primary heating system, in-operable toilet (when there is no other in the home), problems with your keys or lock jeopardising the security of your home, call Silver Knight Repair on 01904 238278, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For all other claims or if you don’t have Home Emergency cover, each of our insurers may handle claims a little differently to each other.  If you need to make a claim on your home insurance policy you’ll need to refer to your policy book and follow your insurer’s instructions.  If you have mislaid your policy book but know who your insurer is, head over to our downloads section where you’ll be able to download a pdf of the policy wording.

  • If you have sprung a leak or your pipes have burst, locate the stop cock and turn off the water supply, making sure you turn off your central heating system.
  • If you have been the victim of theft or a burglary, don’t touch anything and call the police immediately. Remember to make a note of the crime reference number.
  • If flood water has, or is expected to enter your property, you should move all valuables and essentials to an upper floor or elevated place.
  • If you are going away, leave your central heating on low to prevent pipes freezing in cold weather.
